I am interested in the behavioural interactions between fish and human predators (fishers) in the context of fisheries sustainability. Specifically, I am evaluating what is the role of the different behavioural types of fish and fishers generating different movement trajectories using state-of-art statistical approaches. One of my main research questions is 'how consistent and repeatable are such as trajectories across time and contexts?' I use classical and new variants (Lévy flights) of the optimal foraging theory to test how optimal are the fisher's searches exploiting the fish. I try therefore disentangling the role of human and fishing behavioural types determining the fate of wild animals to human predators and their later social-ecological consequences for natural systems.
